Commemorating the 20th anniversary of Joaqu\u00edn Rodrigo\u2019s death, his <em>Sonata Giocosa<\/em> is the Open competition set piece. The mission of the Guitar Seminar is \u201cto promote high-level solo and chamber music training for young guitarists.\u201d Teachers this year include the American duo of Michael Newman and Laura Oltman, Jo\u00e3o Luiz (of the Brasil Guitar Duo), as well as Italian guitarists Isabella Abbonizio and Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Zigante.
