{"id":450,"date":"2014-10-13T11:49:25","date_gmt":"2014-10-13T18:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/classicalguitarmagazine.com\/?p=450"},"modified":"2014-10-16T11:06:43","modified_gmt":"2014-10-16T18:06:43","slug":"classical-guitar-magazine-now-published-by-stringletter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/classicalguitarmagazine.com\/classical-guitar-magazine-now-published-by-stringletter\/","title":{"rendered":"Classical Guitar Magazine Now Published by Stringletter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-452 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/classicalguitarmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/SL_Logo_Vertical.jpg?resize=105%2C126\" alt=\"SL_Logo_Vertical\" width=\"105\" height=\"126\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Stringletter, the California-based publisher of <em>Acoustic Guitar<\/em>, <em>Strings<\/em>, and <em>Ukulele,<\/em> has purchased <em>Classical Guitar<\/em>, the magazine of record for the international classical-guitar community since 1982, from its founding owner, Ashley Mark Publishing of Blaydon-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p><em>Classical Guitar<\/em> was launched by English musician and writer Maurice Summerfield, who also authored the standard biographical reference <em>The Classical Guitar: Its Evolution, Players and Personalities Since 1800<\/em>, now in its fifth edition.<\/p>\n<p>Under the longtime editorial leadership of Colin Cooper, who died in 2012, the magazine became the English-language authority on all aspects of the classical guitar\u2014its players, composers, instrument builders, and enthusiasts.<\/p>\n<p><em>Classical Guitar<\/em>\u2019s new Editor is Jason Walsh, who also serves as managing editor of <em>Acoustic Guitar<\/em> Magazine.\u00a0The long-time UK-based editorial team continues to contribute news, reviews, and features, while founder Maurice Summerfield assumes the new role of Contributing Editor.<\/p>\n<p><em>Classical Guitar<\/em> introduced this redesigned news-driven website earlier this week, and a new weekly e-newsletter debuts on Friday, October 17, along with expanded coverage of the classical-guitar world on leading social-media channels. The print magazine shifts from a monthly to a quarterly schedule in 2015 with expanded coverage of historic and contemporary lutherie along with its regular features and departments.<\/p>\n<p>Current subscribers to the monthly print magazine will receive the number of issues for which they have paid.
