After making their mark upon the classical guitar world with a major prize at the 1979 Young Artists Competition in Bratislava, the Assads have gone on to win a 2001 Latin Grammy, a Grammy nomination in 2001 for Best Classical Album, and that year Sergio took home a Latin Grammy for his composition \u201cTahhiyya Li Oussilina.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When not wowing audiences with their musicianship, the Brussels-based Odair teaches at Ecole Sup\u00e9rieure des Arts, while S\u00e9rgio resides in San Francisco, and is on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Post<\/em> named the Assad Brothers among the best \u201cguitar team[s] in existence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The performance is set for 7pm in ASC\u2019s Jemison Concert Hall, 1200 10th Ave. South.
