As with the CDs, these are not reviews (some\u00a0<em>will<\/em>\u00a0be reviewed in the magazine, but frankly most will not), but we think it\u2019s important to at least get the word out about what\u2019s being offered to guitarists out there. Noble states on his website that his method &#8220;aims to dispel some of the misconceptions about tremolo technique, offering a thorough, detailed explanation of how to perceive, approach and practice tremolo. Also included are my own editions of <em>Un Sueno en la Floresta<\/em>, <em>Recuerdos de la Alhambra,<\/em> and <em>Una Limosna por el Amor de Dios<\/em>, which aim to offer more practical and musical fingerings to help the pieces truly sing, as well as a more helpful way to notate tremolo throughout the pieces.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>This should whet your appetite for tremolo. However, for this contemporary piece aimed at intermediate guitarists, Maccari has written 11 short (one- to two-page) movements in a variety of styles, as evidenced by such titles as &#8220;L&#8217;Horloge&#8230; tic tac&#8221; (the clock), &#8220;Ennui&#8221; (boredom), &#8220;Scherzo,&#8221; &#8220;Pardon, je suis presse&#8221; (Pardon, I&#8217;m in a hurry), and &#8220;Bonne nuit&#8221; (good night).<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5911\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/classicalguitarmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/coles-226x300.png?resize=226%2C300\" alt=\"coles\" width=\"226\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/classicalguitarmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/coles.png?resize=226%2C300&amp;ssl=1 226w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/classicalguitarmagazine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/coles.png?w=537&amp;ssl=1 537w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 226px) 100vw, 226px\" \/>\u00e9<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Coles<\/strong><br \/>\n<em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.muzicaseditions.co.uk\/page36.html\" target=\"_blank\">A Sunny Day<\/a>\u00a0(Un D\u00eda Soleado)<\/strong> <\/em>(solo guitar)<br \/>\nM\u00dasicas Editions, 4 pp.<\/p>\n<p>This short and engaging intermediate piece is, according to British composer Coles &#8220;composed as an homage to the guitarist and composer August\u00edn Barrios Mangor\u00e9.
